Universal Healing Tao Training with Senior Instructor Jon Weston – Day 3

On my third day of training with Jon Ashley Weston we reviewed the previous practices of The Inner Smile, Healing Light Meditation (Opening the Cosmic Orbit), Chi Self Massage, and the Six Healing Sounds. I was introduced to the Iron Shirt Chi Kung: Embracing the Tree, Holding the Golden Urn, the Golden Turtle Immersing in Water, the Buffalo Emerging from the Water, Golden Phoenix Washes its Feathers, and the Iron Bridge. The postures were more or less the same as my dad taught me, but the Professor gave me refined detailed corrections. I think it will take a good amount of time to get situated with the Iron Shirt practice by Mantak’s linage. Full session:

Full Guided Session:

  1. Bellows Breathing 9 – 18 times
  2. Exhale into the ground. Flatten stomach and lower the diaphragm
  3. Small sip into:
    1. Front anus
    2. Middle anus
    3. Back anus
    4. Right side anus and pack the right kidney
    5. Left side anus and pack the left kidney
    6. Upper abdominal
    7. Middle abdominal
    8. Lower abdominal
    9. Perineum
  4. Hold breath
  5. Exhale into the ground
  6. Breath in and breath out. Connect to the Cosmic Golden energy. Feel a connection between the mid-eye and the palms of the hands. Feel a rocking back and forth.
  7. Sole, palm, and Bone Breathing

  1. Bellows Breathing 9 – 18 times
  2. Exhale into the ground. Flatten stomach and lower the diaphragm

    4. Sacrum
    5. Soles of the feet
    6. Knees
    7. Perineum
    8. Sacrum
  4. Hold breath
Yin:
  1. Exhale into the ground and turn the hands over and move them into the yin posture.
  2. Draw in the red energy of the Big Dipper and the violet light of the North Star. Feel the weight of the energy above you.
  3. Draw the energy down to the tan tien guiding it down with your hands. Feel the hands expand with chi.
  4. Bring the hands to the sides. Push the heals of the palms down and the index fingers lifted and straight.
  5. Breath in the blue healing energy of the Earth. Regulate your breath. Feel yourself rooted into the Earth.

  1. Put the fists in front to prepare to lower the body into the turtle posture.
  2. Bellows Breathing 9 – 18 times
  3. Small sip into:
    1. Front anus
    2. Middle anus
    3. Back anus
    4. Right side anus and pack the right kidney
    5. Left side anus and pack the left kidney
  4. Hold breath
  5. Exhale and get into the posture:
    1. Step both feet out to the sides to widen out the stance.
    2. Lower your butt down first, then bending your whole upper body forward.
  6. Small sip into:
    1. Sacrum
    2. Ming Men
    3. T11
    4. C7
    5. Jade Pillow
    6. Crown
  7. Hold breath
  8. Exhale into the ground
Buffalo:
  1. Get into the posture
    1. Head looking up / straight forward
    2. Drop your butt down
    3. Curved back
    4. Arms and hands relaxed and dangling to the ground
  2. Bellows Breathing 9 – 18 times
  3. Drop head back down and slowly stand up and raise hands up above the head town to the sides. Bring the hands to the sides. Push the heals of the palms down and the index fingers lifted and straight.

  1. Bellows Breathing 9 – 18 times
  2. Sweep hands to the sides with the palms facing up
  3. Small sip and raise hands:
    1. From genitals to kidneys
    2. Liver & spleen
    3. Lungs & heart
  4. Exhale ‘SSS’ and push palms out
  5. Small sip using crane’s beak hands move energy from:
    1. Sacrum to T11
    2. C7
    3. Crown
  6. Exhale ‘CHOO’ and press hands down in front of the body
  7. Exhale again then rotate hands out to the side and:
    1. Flex finger tendons out
    2. Spread toes
    3. Stick tongue out to your chin
    4. Cross your eyes by looking at your nose
    5. Pull up your genitals
  8. Sweep hands to the sides with the palms facing up
  9. Small sip and raise hands:
    1. From genitals to kidneys
    2. Liver & spleen
    3. Lungs & heart
  10. Exhale ‘SHH’ and push palms out
  11. Small sip using crane’s beak hands move energy from:
    1. Sacrum to T11
    2. C7
    3. Crown
  12. Exhale ‘HAW’ and press hands down in front of the body
  13. Exhale again then rotate hands out to the side and:
    1. Flex finger tendons out
    2. Spread toes
    3. Stick tongue out to your chin
    4. Cross your eyes by looking at your nose
    5. Pull up your genitals
  14. Sweep hands to the sides with the palms facing up
  15. Small sip and raise hands:
    1. From genitals to kidneys
    2. Liver & spleen
    3. Lungs & heart
  16. Exhale ‘WHOO’ and push palms out
  17. Small sip using crane’s beak hands move energy from:
    1. Sacrum to T11
    2. C7
    3. Crown
  18. Exhale ‘HEE’ and press hands down in front of the body
  19. Exhale again then rotate hands out to the side and:
    1. Flex finger tendons out
    2. Spread toes
    3. Stick tongue out to your chin
    4. Cross your eyes by looking at your nose
    5. Pull up your genitals
Iron Bridge:
  1. Stand with hands at sides. Thumbs & index fingers touching (root chakra mudra), hands placed behind the kidneys
Yin:
  1. Bellows Breathing 9 – 18 times
  2. Inhale to kidneys
  3. Inhale to kidneys
  4. Arch backwards
    1. Chin tucked in
    2. Legs straight
    3. Open chest
Yang:
  1. Exhale
    1. Lower head bending forward to the ground one vertebra at a time
    2. Relax
    3. Breath into the kidneys and draw the body slightly up, then exhale
      1. Repeat at the right side
      2. Repeat at the left side
      3. Repeat at the middle
    4. Stand up slowly
    5. Bring hands up the side and close
    6. Collect the chi
